Controllers

Antenna mats are connected to Controllers which contain the chip readers. All Controllers are powered by internal batteries, and have internal chargers for recharging after every event. The Controllers will give a LED-signal as well as a beep-signal when a chip is detected.

The Readers in the Controller and the antennas in the mats have a double function :

  • Together they generate a magnetic field
  • Together they receive the Chip-codes signals

We offer three kinds of Controllers: the DigiBox 2, the MiniReader and the MiniReader Combi.
The Digibox 1 and the Yellow Box, an analog predecessor of the DigiBox 1 are no longer in production.

DigiBox 2

 
The DigiBox 2 uses digital technology. It is rugged and weatherproof and has the following features and advantages compared to the DigiBox 1 :

  • Smaller and lighter
  • Less power consumption
  • Simpler tuning by only 1 tuning knob
  • Improved noise suppression
  • Easier firmware upgrading

Due to the latest digital technology used in the DigiBox 2 it is quite easy to quickly set-up and run a system.

DigiCase

 
The DigiCase is the new digital controller of ChampionChip. The DigiCase is the successor of the MiniReader and the MiniReader Combi. It is very suitable for small events and training sessions, but you can also use it for timing split points in big events.
